Go Pack GO

Last week was the week of hell.

I had to give a presentation in my class on Monday and then I worked all 7 days for a total of 60 hours.  I’ve worked every weekend for the past 6 or 7 weeks.  Plus everybody’s temper is short so I’ve been yelled at a few times lately.  Seems like I can’t do anything right, although I think that’s more that everybody is stressed out.  The deadline was last Friday and I’m still not done with everything.  It has really been brutal.  I could go into more details, but frankly I’m too tired.  Also, Sara’s family is coming for Thanksgiving, which is great, but we have a lot of cleaning to do before then.

And now, the ages old debate, do I stay up late to watch the Packer’s game even though I have to get up early and it might just kill me?

Decisions, decisions.

Doesn’t seem like a Saturday

I’ve been working 50 hour weeks for the last month. Usually I take Saturday off and work on Sunday, but today I worked which made this seem like a Sunday.

Didn’t do much today, worked and read and surfed the net a little bit. A couple of months ago all the libraries around me had used book sales. Paperbacks were 3 for a dollar and hardcovers were $1. I went to 3 in 3 weeks and spent about $25 which means I had a LOT of books to read. But that’s cool because I’m an incorrigible book worm and I burn through books at a fantastic rate. Especially now that I’m on summer vacation from school. I wish libraries had book sales like every week. I’d go every week.

I hardly ate anything today. I still felt stuffed from Maggianos when I woke up this morning. We ordered pizzas from Peace-A-Pizza and I got pepperoni overload (which is my favorite) but I only ate 2 slices and then that was it. I guess on the plus side I have like a whole pizza waiting for me in the fridge aging like a fine wine.

Oh, also Sara and I went for a walk today. We walked through some really nice neighborhoods and looked at some cool old houses and found a little pizzeria right around the corner from our apartment. If you don’t know me that well maybe you don’t realize what a momentous occasion me going for a walk is! 😛

My friend Kevin’s away message says he got engaged. I haven’t talked to him in at least 2 years. I wonder who he’s getting married to? I hope he invites me to his wedding, I totally want to go. Seeing that up there made me think of all the CS people I knew from college and how sad it is that I never talk to them anymore. Especially Stevie and Kevin.

Life has been very boring lately. I kind of wonder how I was able to put up with so much TV before…it just seems so asinine now.

Right now I feel….Explosivio!

I am soooooooo stuffed.

Today was Tony Vegas’ birthday so we went out to Maggianos for some family style Italian. I ate like 3 times my body weight. And I way a LOT. Made me want to join a new religion. I always knew I loved pirates and pasta, but I never knew there was a religion based on it.

I didn’t go to work today. My job has this weird rule where you can get approved for overtime, but even if you get approved, the first 5 extra hours you work you don’t get paid for. Then, also inexplicably, that rule is waved on the weekend. So I’m doing what any reasonable person would do, which is not work a second over 40 during the week and then come in on the weekend. So, I had my 40 in on Thursday so I didn’t go to work.

I still programmed for about 9 hours today though, taking only breaks to vacuume and do dishes. I’m working on a program for Sara to use at work. I got *so* close to finishing it today. I guess I’ll finish it up tomorrow or maybe when I get done with this.

Did I mention that I’m stuffed? Did I mention that Maggianos is the greatest place on earth??

Hey, remember this thing?

I was just catching up on some friend’s blogs and I remembered this thing here. I really would like to get back to writing in here. For awhile it just became too much of a chore.

So I’ve been married a year, so far so good! 🙂 Everything’s going really well and married life is even better than I thought.

Work has been a handful. About 5 months ago or so I kind of got a promotion to where I’m a team lead and I’m managing 3 or so people. I say “kind of got a promotion” because it was a promotion in responsibility but not a promotion in money or anything. 🙂 It’s been really good so far, but it makes me work a lot more than I used to.

On top of that school was really kicking my ass. I just got done with my capstone class, which is like the “end-of-your-masters-wrap-up-the-program” class. Between all the extra hours at work and all the extra hours for school, I’ve literally had no time to do anything. I can’t wait until I graduate in December!

Now that class is over and our delivery is about to go out the door at work, I find myself without anything to do. I’m still kind of in hurry up mode so I feel like I should be doing something. T.V. just seems boring now. (Hence me picking the LJ back up…)

I’m trying to actually DO some of my hobbies now that I have time, particularly picking the guitar back up. Unfortunately my callouses are completly gone now and I’m not able to play for very long.

Somewhere in there we also took a trip to England to see Sara’s sister who was doing study abroad. It was a great trip (although we prefered Italy) except for on the first day when someone broke the rental car window and stole Sara’s purse. Kind of put a damper on the trip…

Okay, I started this too late and now it’s time to go to bed. Who knows, maybe I’ll have some extra time now that school is out and I’ll update this thing!

Ready to serve

Time to update because some random person told me to. I’m a slave to the masses…

Let’s see, what happened…oh yeah, I got MARRIED. What a head trip. I’m still not used to it and it will be 1 month tomorrow. (Happy Anniversary babe!) Let’s not forget the honeymoon to NYC and Alexis’ wedding last weekend.

Other than that it’s just been getting used to going to work every day again. We’ve been spending money like crazy and we’re digging a bit of a hole, so thank god Sara started her job today. Oh, did I mention Sara got a job? She’s working as a peds genetic counselor at CHOP (Children’s Hospital Of Philadelphia). Today was her first day! So far so good I guess. We can really use the money.

Last but not least, get pumped for the greatest time of year…football season!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Got fantasy drafts coming up and I’m getting into the full swing of things. Let me just say this:

I smell Superbowl for the Packers.
