I went to see the last two apartments I was going to see today and the guy didn’t show. I called him and said he tried to call me at work. I left work at 4 for our 4:30 appointment…I better have a message from him when I get into work tomorrow!!

I’m feeling accomplished because I got all the paperwork filled out for the apartment that it looks like we’re going to get (most in-depth application EVER!).

I wanted to make my decision today about the apartment…now I have to either disregard the two apartments I was going to see today or wait until Saturday to decide on an apartment which might mean the other one will be gone.

Decisions, decisions.

A lot done tonight even though I have nothing to do

I left work a little early today to go see that apartment. It’s not going to work out because it’s too small. I also dropped off the movie I rented over the weekend and got some cheese from the grocery store (and ice cream sandwiches!). After that I came home and watched Gilmore Girls and talked to Rody about the bachelor party which is the weekend after this. I tried to look at the web page for my health insurance to see if it would cover pre-marital counseling. That led me to a page that let me look up family counselors. Tomorrow I’m going to have to call them and see if any of them accept my health insurance. We also looked up some on another web page Sara had, and one of them was on both pages. After that I looked up rental car information because it might be cheaper than a 1 way ticket to Sara’s when I go to help her move. It’s amazing how widely the price varies across companies!

So tomorrow the calls I need to make are:
2 rental car places
3 or more counselors
The one apartment place that’s in the lead right now
and, if I feel like it,
Any of the 5 or so apartment places that didn’t call me back

That’s about it. I’m going to be seeing Sara a lot next month, which is a good thing!

I feel like there’s not much to do now that I don’t have school!

I came home from work and made a bunch of phone calls. First I called the guy in charge of the place where we’re having our reception. Sara gave me a list of questions to ask him. You know, it’s quite amazing, every time we have something we want to do, he says yes. No matter what it is, he makes it happen. Maybe I shouldn’t be so amazed because that’s the way people should be when you’re giving them lots of money, but frankly they aren’t. This guy though…he’s awesome.

Next I called 7 apartment complexes. I have 3 appointments set up but most of the places either didn’t answer or I left a message on an answering machine. I’ve decided that I’m going to make my decision after the places I see on Thursday. If I don’t hear from anybody else before then, so be it. I’ve looked at about 7 places, I’ve got 3 more for sure to look at and another 6 or so that I’ve called but haven’t seen. Nobody can say I wasn’t thorough!

Other than that I’ve just played guitar and watched T.V. tonight. I feel like there are things I should be doing, but I really don’t think there is. Oh, I was going to put a little extra in my final but the info I found didn’t really change anything, so I didn’t resubmit it.

Oh, one more thing, I weighed myself today. I was expecting something really bad since 1) I’m not working out AT ALL, 2) I’ve been eating easter candy like crazy, and 3) I’ve been eating bad things and going out to eat. I think I forgot to mention it in here, but on Friday night I had a full cheesesteak from both Pats and Ginos!! NOT on the diet plan. But you know what? I was down 4 pounds from the last time I weighed myself! I was 208, which was only 1 pound heavier than at the end of the contest.

Busy day

I managed to get everything I wanted to get done today done, somehow. I got all the pictures from all the apartments I looked at uploaded and showed them to Sara. Oh yeah, I don’t know why those snapfish links are working in that post below…they were working when I put them up there. Dumb snapfish.

Anyway, I went to Kohls and bought two pairs of kahkis and a work shirt. They had one of those weekends where you could get 15% off if you had a charge card.
Suggested retail price: $99.99
How much I paid at Kohls: $47.57
Savings of: $52.42.
How can you not love Kohls?

I was in and out of Kohls so fast that I decided to stop at Target and get some cat food and litter. Then I came home and started my MASSIVE amount of laundry. At least I don’t have to wear a towel to work tomorrow.

While that was going I worked on my take home final for my class. I just finished that and since class is canceled next week, I’m done with class for the summer! Rock on.

Too bad tomorrow is Monday already. I’ve got to call all of those apartment places…we need to move in in 6 weeks! I need to sign a lease soon. Right now the frontrunner is this little place in Wayne, PA. It’s in a small building with 3 other apartments. It’s kind of small but it’s super super cheap (like $875 a month!!). The only weird thing about it is that there are washer dryer hookups for each apartment in the basement. So there is like a laundry room…except everyone owns their own. If we lived there we’d have to buy a washer dryer, but considering it’s about $225 per month less than most of the places I’ve been looking at, it’s well worth it.

Oh in other news, Sara found a listing for a job in Camden, NJ. It’s a long shot so I’m trying desparately not to get my hopes up. It would be a lot closer than anything else she’s seen so far, but KOP and Camden are on exact opposite corners of the city so there’s no good place where we could live that wasn’t inside city borders. Unfortunately, it looks like the people are looking for someone with experience, so Sara wouldn’t exactly fit the bill.

Well, time to get to bed.

Why is it so hard to find an apartment? Sara says it’s because we are picky, but I think it’s mostly because apartment advertisements are dishonest. They try to portray themselves in the best light including distorting maps as much as possible to appear close to everything. So I have to spend 10 minutes trying to find where each appartment actually is, only to discover its nowhere near where it says it is!

Also, didn’t plan on working on my paper tonight, but slave driver group member forced my hand.

I did get a LOT done tonight though. Grocery Store, laundry, organized guitar tabs, looked up apartment stuff, plus other little things.

I’m already dreading going to class tomorrow. 😦
