Happy Father’s Day

In honor of my very first Father’s Day ever, Sara was gracious enough to sleep in and let me spend some very early quality time with my daughter!

Evie got me a frame and some paper and some special non-toxic baby finger paints to make me a picture to hang in the dining room.  We haven’t made it yet, I’m not sure when we’re going to.  Sara bought me a wall clock.  I’m not quite sure where to hang it yet since it is too nice to go in any of the rooms that currently don’t have clocks.  A clock might seem like a strange present, but you have to understand that I love clocks.  I couldn’t even tell you why.  Big huge wall clocks, like this:

I don’t know what it is about clocks exactly, but I just like them and I always look at them at Target or where ever (for some reason Target has good clocks) and it was a good present.  One time we wnt in a clock store and Sara practically had to drag me out.

Anyway, since it’s Father’s Day and all, here is a really good game to waste some time on.  It is a 2D / Flash version of the console game Portal.  I know Meg was the first person to tell me that I personally would really like Portal, but I have since heard from many sources that it is a really good game.  Since I don’t have an XBox 360, I guess I will have to settle for the Flash version.  I haven’t beaten it yet, but I’m somewhere in the 30s.

For those of you who can’t get enough zombies

As with anything, the more I write about something the more links, etc. come pouring in about it.  The topic du jour of course is zombies.

In a related note, Nathan and I seem to be trading videos and links back and forth like some sort of really really slow zombie conversation.  It is weird because normally if I see something on a blog or whatever that I think y’all would enjoy I put it here and reference the place where I got it and that seems to work okay.  But for some reason when it is my brother, even though I reference him, it seems weird somehow like I’m copying.  I guess it is a brother thing, like “Mooooom!  He’s copying!”

Anyway, here is a very easy to understand zombie survival guide which I stole from Baconpalooza quid pro quo since he stole my last one.

And that video led me to this really fantastic Zombie Survival and Defense page.  There really is a lot of information there and I haven’t had time to go through it all, but what I’ve seen seems pretty good!

Maybe now you’ll take me seriously

President Bush does…

It’s only fair

I have already previously embarased my brother-in-law so it is only fair to to the same to my brother:

More coyotes and magical berries

I stumbled across this old article from 2006 the other day and as Chicago’s leading coyote informant, I had to share.  Basically it talks about why Chicago is so full of coyotes!  The main reason being that, unusually for a city its size, it has a lot of park land and all of it is more or less connected.  This lets the coyotes travel around the city at will without being spotted.  The most interesting statistic is that coyotes raised in Chicago have a two times better chance surviving than they do in the wild!  So it is actually safer for them than in the wild.  That’s just…wild.

Going in a completely different direction here, Sara sent me this link and it was amazing.  There is this crazy berry that you eat and then it temporarily spazes out your taste buds making everything taste crazy.  It sounds so weird, I would love to try it sometime!
