Baby the 2nd

Oliver Charles was born at 9:13 this morning, April 12th. He was 9 lbs. 4 oz. and 21 1/4 inches long (that’s even longer than Evie), so he’s a pretty big baby!

It was a bit of a surprise, since he wasn’t due for another week, but everything went smashingly. We expect to be home on Wednesday, after which, there will be details of course.

The blog updates will most likely be non-existent for a while, so talk amongst yourselves.

  2. I swear to God the name Oliver has been swimming around in my head for weeks. Can I call him “Ollie?” That’s my favorite nickname ever. Congratulations! You are all in my thoughts as you adjust to a four-person family – you can do it!!!

  3. Congrats! If he’s really that tall, maybe you could get a shot of this one doing an ‘Olive Oyl’ impression to go with your other ‘Popeye’ child. I bet that’s what you had in mind when you named him. I’m not sure I would like to have the word ‘smashingly’ enter the conversation when talking about the birth of my child, but then again, I’ve never been a witness to such events. Smoke a cigar for me!

  4. I’m extremely proud of you guys for having babies you can support. It’s so refreshing to congratulate someone who just had a baby when you honestly aren’t thinking “Oh man I wonder how long till this one is in jail or dancing on a pole?” Oliver is a hell of a name. You guys are great! Have a great summer and don’t worry about sleeping, you can always catch up on missed sleep when they are in school.

  5. Oh my gosh, Congratulations you guys! Time got away from me and I didn’t realize Sara was so close to delivering! I hope mom and baby are doing well and that Evie falls in love with being a big sister.
