Just an interesting little tidbit, it turns out that if you are performing CPR it helps to keep the song “Stayin’ Alive” by the Bee Gees in your head, because it has the perfect rhythm for the chest compressions. This is very convenient because I think if I were performing life saving CPR on somebody, I probably couldn’t do anything to keep Stayin’ Alive out of my head. It also mentions that “Another One Bites the Dust” by Queen will also work, however, it is a little less…optimistic.
Link courtesy my lovely wife who actually told me about it some time ago, before there was even a link on CNN.
Derek had to perform CPR at work a couple of weeks ago. I will be certain to ask him if he had the wherewithall to hum Bee Gees tunes while desperately trying to save a man’s life. Good news though: my husband is, in fact, a life saver 🙂
