What to do in case you are sent back to the 1950s, and then experience a zombie attack

Remember those old school public safety announcements, like the famous “duck and cover” campaign? And now, of course, when you watch those things (or even old T.V. shows for that matter) they seem so ridiculous and dated. Well, how would a saftey video for zombie attacks have looked? I’m glad you asked!

Mega Shark vs. Giant Octopus

Okay people, have you seen this one? Check out the trailer for a movie with the unlikely name of Mega Shark vs. Giant Octopus.  Make sure you watch to the very last scene…I think you’ll know which one I mean when you see it:

Yeah, that’s right. The one where the mega shark jumps out of the water and eats an airplane. Oh, and the one where the mega shark bites the Golden Gate Bridge ain’t no slouch either.

There is a lot here that reminds me of Snakes on a Plane: the cheesy subject matter, the awesome title that leaves no doubt who this movie is intended for, the pre-movie Internet hype, etc. Just substitute The Renegade himself, Mr. Lorenzo Lamas, for Samuel L. Jackson and you have a movie. I’d guess that this was all intentional in an attempt to try to replicate what Snakes on a Plane had and try to get more money out of a cheaply made movie. But you know what? I don’t care! Intentional or not, cheesy or not, I can’t miss a movie with a title like that. In full disclosure, this is perfectly the type of movie I like to begin with, so it’s not like they had to do much convincing on my part.

According to the IMDB page, this movie is going to be released in 5 days, so they may have started their hype machine a little late, but I’m going to do my part to get the word out there!

Worst. Fight Scene. Ever.

This came up at work the other day. Can you imagine a cheesier or less realistic fight scene? I’m sure it is supposed to be dramatic or something, but you can’t help but laugh. It’s like watching two out of shape old men fight in slow motion. Can you believe this was actually on t.v.? It was a different era, that’s for sure. In this day and age, any teenage could do better with a camcorder in his backyard.

Let Sleeping Dogs Lie

I forget where I saw this first, maybe on The Soup? And then again on Planet Dan? Either way it is all over everywhere and, as usual, I am the last to blog it. I feel it is my civic duty to put these things on my blog to announce the end of them.  Kind of like when your grandma starts saying “what’s up” or calling your friends your “homies”. That’s what I strive for at least.

Anyway, make sure you watch all the way to the end:

Everything’s better with stop action photography

Here’s one pulled out of the archives.  I originally saved this link for blogging purposes on July 13th of ’08!

I’m a fan of Eddie Izzard, but it turns out his bits are even funnier when performed by little lego guys:

You can see many, many more here. Aparently doing Eddie Izzard bits as stop action lego guys is quite a thing because there are many, many more users with the same, but that link goes to the original ones I saw.
