Here are step-by-step instructions on how to build a craft that can take pictures from outer space, for less than $150.

The long and the short of it is basically a styrofoam cooler containing a modified digital camera and a cheap prepaid cell phone (for the GPS), suspended from a weather balloon.

Apparently you can buy weather balloons. Who knew?

I would love to give this a try. It’s like an adult science project. Just imagine the sweet pictures you could take. And if you framed one and put it on the wall, you’d have a pretty awesome story to go with it!
