You know how sometimes you try on a pair of pants that is your size and it is either teeny tiny, or huge? And we just say, “Well, sizes vary a bit between companies.” Well, they vary more than just a little bit!
This chart really blew my mind. The good news is, you can pretend you have a 36 inch waist. The bad news is, not one of the companies actually measured 36 inches. So, whatever size pants you think you have, you’re probably wrong. ESPECIALLY if you shop at Old Navy. Yikes!
It is especially disappointing to think of the scenarios this implies. Remember how excited you were to fit into a smaller size for the first time in a long time? Maybe you didn’t lose any weight, maybe the pants just got bigger. Or, if you’ve managed to stay in the same pant size for years, maybe you have actually been slowly getting bigger and just didn’t realize.
These days, you just can’t get away from inflation.
