Quote Monday gets metaphysical

Evie: “I’m a little confused. Are you a ghost inside of you, or a skeleton inside of you?” – From a kid’s point of view, this is a pretty good question! And the answer is sort of more complicated than you would initially guess.

Evie: “Anytime you feel like kissing me, hug me instead until you don’t smell like cheese-breath!”

Sara: “It was all okay until he was laying in the globe of my right eye.”

Kris: “Are you sure you want me to take your hat home with me?”
Evie: “Yes. And bring it back full of money.”

Sara: “Evie, Oliver and I want some privacy.”
Evie: “Let me in! I want some privacy too!”

I guess more people should send me free stuff!

A co-worker just stopped me in the hall and told me that, after hearing my ridiculous pickle pop story, she went out and bought some pickle pops for her husband for father’s day.

See, companies out there? It is always a good idea to send samples to bloggers!

It just goes to show you, there’s no such thing as bad publicity.

I bet that gets you out of bed in the morning

Have you ever known someone who just can’t get up in the morning? Of course you have, we all have. Maybe you’re one of those people yourself. Well, maybe the proper motivation has yet to be applied. Maybe it’s time to put some money on the line in as visual and immediate of a fashion as possible, with the money shredding alarm clock.

I think it’s pretty self explanatory, but I’ll go ahead and explain it anyway: pre-load it with money the night before (apparently hundreds if you’ve got ‘um), when the alarm goes off, get up and turn it off, or face the consequences.

It’s amusing, but I have to tell you, I don’t think it will work. I’ve seen people ruin their lives by not getting up on time. A couple of bucks here and there isn’t going to change anything. And besides, you’re in no state to make rational decisions at that point. When you wake up really, really early in the morning, if someone told you, “Hey, give me $100 and I’ll let you go back to sleep!”, you’d take it in a heartbeat.

The Tiny House Movement

I have recently become fascinated by the Tiny House Blog, and the tiny house movement in general. It is very, very appealing to me to have a very tiny house (less than 1,000 square feet, but usually around 500 square feet or less). It is total rebellion against the consumerist lifestyle. You cannot have any useless junk laying around, you simply don’t have any room for it.

Oh man, that sounds like heaven.

The more junk I get rid of from my house, the more the rest of it begins to look suspect. Disposable plastic toys. Clothes I haven’t worn in years. Extraneous kitchen appliances. And all of it wrapped in miles and miles of extra trash packaging.

The tiny houses on that blog are great. They come in more varieties than you can imagine: from rustic, to modern, from log cabins, to gypsy wagons. From houses made from old storage containers, to houses made of mud and straw. Some are totally self-sufficient off the grid. Some are on wheels. The only thing in common, is that they are all tiny.

One day I will have a tiny house, mark my words!
