Myq Kaplan on Last Comic Standing

One of my favorite comedians Myq Kaplan is currently a finalist on Last Comic Standing.

If you’re a careful reader of the blog, you will remember him from my “Dr. Show Show” post about a month ago. However, you may not remember that I actually broke the Myq Kaplan story more than a year ago.

Anyway, he’s cracked the top 10 and now they’re into the part of the show where the audience can vote. So, if you’re into that kind of thing, I think you should go with Myq (despite that first name!) I don’t want him to get so depressed that I have to page Dr. Dontkillyourself.

Our Little Old Farmer’s Market, on T.V.!

According to an email I just received by way of the garden list serve, the farmer’s market a few blocks from our house that we go to every week (and buy something whenever possible) is going to be featured on NBC Nightly News with Brian Williams tonight, during the ‘Making a Difference’ segment.

NBC filmed at the Market on July 3rd, wanting to get the story about how our Market makes healthy foods accessible and affordable for all.

Looks like the Nightly News airs at 5:30 p.m., (central time). I guess I’ll have to tivo it. No spoilers!  😉

Edit: In case you missed it, you can watch it here, with a little bit more of an interview with the guy here.

Baby the 2nd

Oliver Charles was born at 9:13 this morning, April 12th. He was 9 lbs. 4 oz. and 21 1/4 inches long (that’s even longer than Evie), so he’s a pretty big baby!

It was a bit of a surprise, since he wasn’t due for another week, but everything went smashingly. We expect to be home on Wednesday, after which, there will be details of course.

The blog updates will most likely be non-existent for a while, so talk amongst yourselves.

Grandpa Brett

Brett Favre is officially a grandpa. No, I don’t just mean he’s really old, I mean that literally.

Congratulations to Brittany Favre and little Parker Brett who weighed in at seven pounds seven ounces.

No word on whether the Packers have drafted him yet or not. I have to wonder if there has ever been another player in the history of the NFL who was currently active and a grandfather at the same time. If not, another Brett Favre record ladies and gents!

Boy, as if he wasn’t getting enough grief about being old in the first place.

Death of a Legend

If you felt a great disturbance in the Force, as if millions of voices suddenly cried out in terror and were suddenly silenced, it was because something terrible has happened.

That’s right, Glen W. Bell Jr., the founder of Taco Bell, died.

Truly, a day that will live in infamy. And to anybody who says Taco Bell isn’t healthy? Dude was 86.
