A friend of mine, and frequent commenter on this blog, needs our help!

Meg of MegDesk.com (best known (on this blog at least) for being home to the annual Eurovision WTF awards) has joined a contest for bloggers to win a trip to the North Pole.

Meg’s post on why you should vote for her is really amazing, and you should definitely go read it (on your way to voting for her of course). The thing that makes it really amazing to me is that I know Meg, and I know that it is truly from her heart.

Meg enjoys travel the way I enjoy bacon. The way a Frenchman enjoys wine. The way zombies enjoy brains. She doesn’t just travel for simple sustenance, she rolls it around in her mouth and really tastes it. Enjoys it. She strides the globe like a colossus; a small town 4-H queen who went on to live in Paris, Beijing and Oslo. She’s awoken at sunrise to a roaring lion. SHE WAS AWOKEN AT DAWN, IN A TENT, BY A LION. And I know of nobody else in the world who so enjoys flags.

Meg deserves to go to the North Pole. She should stand on top of the world. No mere country can contain her. I don’t want to live in a world where someone like Meg can’t go to the North Pole.

The way the contest works is that the top 5 vote getters will go before a panel of experts who will select the winner. Meg is currently in 10th place. If all of the visitors who come to my blog today went and voted for Meg, she would easily jump to 6th place. And if you have facebook, you don’t even need to sign up for an account to vote for her: just go to her entry, click on the facebook icon, and allow the application.

So simple. Do it now. Vote for Meg. It will never be so easy to make someone’s dream come true. It’s the least you can do for me.
