So this being baby day is being called into serious question here! We felt like things were going pretty well. The day yesterday actually went pretty fast! We brought a lot of stuff to do and everything. There were some small contractions showing up on the monitor (Sara couldn’t really feel them) so we thought there was progress being made.
However, when they came to see how the medicine was doing we found out there was absolutely no progress. This was quite a blow. We knew that they were probably going to have to do another round, but there was just something about being here for 12 hours and making no progress…ouch. So the put the next round in and we tried to go to bed. This is really where the trouble started…it was a pretty bad night. Between the uncomfortable bed, the million machines she’s hooked up to, the IV, the lights you can’t turn off in the room, all the machines making noise (no machine that goes *ping* I’m afraid), and people coming in to check on her, Sara got about 2 hours of sleep. Every couple of hours when they examined her she would figure, “I might as well go to the bathroom” so that would begin a 5 minute process of unhooking everything and untangling all the cords. So we were up and down all night and needless to say this did not improve our outlook on the whole situation!
This morning seems a little better. We have the same nurse today that we had yesterday and we really like her. They will be checking Sara in another few hours and then we will figure out what we are doing then. We are trying to stay positive, but there’s nothing really to indicate that this time will be any different.
Here’s to hoping!
Lykke til!
(That’s Norwegian for “Good luck!”)
How long have you been there?

So I just reread the big baby extravaganza, because I can’t keep all the babies straight. I can probably name over a dozen pregnant couples right now!
Anyhow, I just wanted to congratulate you on the baby shopping from the beginning of the year. Why? We have friends who are 7 months pregnant, and they just started shopping this week! They’ve made one trip, and when it didn’t all fit in their tiny economy car they finally realized just how much stuff one “tiny” baby needs. (Originally, they even invited us to go along, because we need another Ikea bookshelf, and they thought we [and our bookcase] would fit in the car as well!) Although I do give some credit to the mom – obviously at this point she’s exempt from all furniture moving and assembly!
